Why Professional Wrestling Doesn't Need Brock Lesnar.

F$@! Brock Lesnar, the professional wrestler. The human being, well I don't know him so I can't pass judgment against the man. But seriously - F$@! Brock Lesnar the Professional Wrestler.

I write this to while I'm watching Monday Night Raw "live" on the west coast. I do know now that Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE. Without seeing him back, without watching the build to the moment that he comes back, as life long wrestling fan, through the good and bad, I dont want Brock back in professional wrestling, period. This guy, was given the opportunity of a lifetime - was given every big name in the WWE Universe(more on that later) to put on his defeated list. He was the guy who would beat the out going Goldberg. The Bad Ass of WWE vs. The Bad Ass of WCW. And Brock Lesnar, didn't like the lifestyle of professional wrestling so he quit to go try out for the Minnesota Vikings and on the 20th Anniversary of Wrestlemania gave us in my opinion the worst match in Wrestlemania history(Thanks Stone Cold for saving the day). He went on to do great things and then when he can't compete in the UFC is back in the WWE. Some say he has limited dates. FUCK THAT. Brock Lesnar took an opportunity that ANY WRESTLING FAN on the planet would do anything for and trashed it because he didn't like the travel schedule. ARE YOU F$@!ING SHITTIN' ME!!!

This ladies in gentleman is also proof that WWE is longer about the wrestling business. Its about making money and being entertainment. Brock Lesnar will probably be used to put over younger talent  but as a professional wrestling fan, I dont want Brock Lesnar back. You don't need "big" names like Brock Lesnar to put over talent. The Attitude Era is the best example of this. Young, Hungry PROFESSIONAL Wrestlers, did what it took to get the fans to show up. These were the guys that gave everything they had and left in the ring every night, in various cities. Believe it or not these guys still exist. They Love this business. They don't do it for the money, they do it for the fans. Wrestling is about comradeship. The reason why Professional Wrestling is special is because this comradeship extends to the fans. Its not easy being a wrestling fan, lets be honest, we get ridiculed when its not in style. But this industry is what given all of us some great thrills. Trust me I remember where I was when the SF Giants won the World Series in 2011, I also remember where I was when they lost the World Series in 2002. I remember where I was for Rock vs. Hogan - Austin vs. Rock II - HBK vs. Bret Hart Iron Man - Hitman vs. Bulldog and the matches span as far back as Hogan vs. Andre at Wrestlemania. Brock Lesnar disrespected that Comradeship. Plus how I can I ever truly believe in a character to be a tough guy, when I know he quit the industry because he couldn't handle the travel schedule?

Any PPV Lesnar is on - I don't purchase.  I am proud to be a wrestling fan - and I believe that Professional Wrestling Does Need Brock Lesnar.

A Renaissance is upon us

As I sit here and I watch Wrestlemania XXVIII again I can't help but feel the honor of being a wrestling fan during the late 90's. Today known as the Attitude Era and a few years ago the Monday Night Wars - was then known as the Wrestling Night. Go back in time, not the fans that jump on board every few years when wrestling is cool but the hardcore fans. Those that remember Bret Harts reign, remember identifying talent in a guy known as Stunning Steven Austin. I'm talking to the fan that saw Bash at the Beach 1996 and legitmately for a few months thought that the WWE had invaded WCW. That was the greatest era in wrestling history. I'm about the become the Morpheus of professional wrestling but ladies and gentleman - I'm going to offer you the chance to walk away right now before I break the brainswashing of the WWE. . . .

Here's the truth. Wrestling was not great in the late 90's not because of the few guys that WWE chooses to acknowledge today. It was the wrestlers of those times that were choosing to compete with one another and knew that there were job opportunities available to them via multiple promotions. This lead to wrestlers leaving it in the arena every night, compared to today - when you it seems that more wrestlers are holding back until Wrestlemania. The late 90's were a time where the guys wrestled and gave it 100% every time there preformed for the audiences that they were in front of. Today as I watched the Undertaker for Triple H - Hell in a Cell - End of an Era match - I couldn't help but disagree with the WWE and Jim Ross with - the era that will never be here again. I enjoyed Wrestlemania - I find it a travesty that I didn't get a chance to see, Daniel Bryan - Bryan Danielson, wrestle at Wrestlemania. It goes to show you that WWE has become more entertainment and less sport. More about the build up than about the match. More about the sizzle and less about the steak.

The Era that WWE is saying is gone, is not gone. Like The Rock did years ago, WWE is trying to let go of its professional wrestling roots and become an entertainment company that does TV, Movies, Online and Professional Wrestling. They are in fact the contributors to the demise of Professional Wrestling in general. They are more likely to put  the Part-Time Rock  over WWE 24/7 John Cena. Wrestling is becoming more of a business and less a of what makes people fall in love with it, the art.

If the WWE has ended an era, then I'm beginning a new one. I'm on the hunt for the Renaissance 5 - those 5 professional wrestlers that will usher in this Renaissance of Professional Wrestling. Keep coming back here to see how the scouting process of the indy's is going.
